A couple of interesting points of note at the moment. First, the Saudis ban dog walking because it’s a way for men and women to meet each other. It never ceases to amaze me that a set of religious leaders can have such a low opinion of their members to want to force them so strictly into line. Then the ever forward thinking members of Al-Qaeda want to ban cucumbers in Iraq, could be an April fool, mind.
Now, most interestingly of all, it appears that the Editor and a Cartoonist involved in the Danish cartoon “controversy” last year are willing to face court in Jordan over their involvement in the cartoons, to defend themselves. It would be particularly worrying if they decided to actually attend the court, but it would be interesting to see if the court has a high enough opinion of free speech to acquit them both.
Comment seems unnecessary, the stories stand for themselves.
